Spindle by Dustin Shuler - Berwyn - Public Art/Wayne's World

"Personally, I would have moved the Walgreens and left the Spindle where it is." -Dustin Shuler commenting on the pending demolition of his sculpture (perhaps you remember it from Wayne's World?) to make room for a Walgreens in Berwyn, IL. [from the International Herald Tribune]
More on the demolition and possible restoration here and here.

I was recently home visiting some friends and was taken to see the Spindle. I am sorry to hear it will be dismantled to build another Walgreens. Is nothing sacred? I am glad I have a picture of it. Maybe it can be put someplace else. How about Millenium Park?
The Car Spindle was removed on May 2nd. Does anyone know if it was just junked or is it going up somewhere else? i am very sorry to see it go. I mean there really was room in the parking lot for Walgreen's and The Spindle.
